** On March 6, 1998, Helicopter pilot Hugh Thompson and his crew were given Soldiers Medals for their role in preventing more deaths at My Lai, as reported in the Washington Post

** The My Lai Peace Park is an effort of Vietnam Veteran Mike Boehm and the Madison, Wisconsin Quakers. Dedication is planned for March 16, 1998, on the 30th anniversary of the My Lai massacre.
